MSEL Group Study Rooms
Wednesday May 16, 2012

This site has a map of each level at the Johns Hopkins University Milton S. Eisenhower Library. The maps displayed on this website only correlate to the area of the library level where group study rooms may be found. This website will display the occupation status of those group study rooms.

Sensors in the group study rooms categorize observed movement into three states. Each state has a correlating color which is placed over the study room location on the map. Below you will find a list of the possible color designations and what each one represents.

Green: the room is available
This is only shown when the lights are off in the room. So please turn off the lights when you leave.

Purple: the room may be available
The room's lights are on. However, no movement has been sensed for 3 to 6 minutes. Maybe someone left the lights on. Maybe someone's sleeping.

Red: the room is unavailable
Movement has been detected. People are actively studying in the room.

Because of the nature of the system, one can expect a 3 to 5 minute delay for a state designation to change for any given room.
